Em DeVincentis (he/they) is a transmasc educator and poet, based in Brooklyn, NY. He is currently an MFA in Poetry candidate at Rutgers-Newark, where he teaches Creative Writing.

Em puts holes in poetry. Interested in what sequences warp versus what congeals, his form directly engages with the imperfect. Em’s work is grounded in desire & familial ties, while simultaneously interrogating trans identity and using nature as a directive.

Em has experience in creative and corporate fields. Writing snappy brand copy and balancing the language of poetics, Em’s interests lie within creating a more critical, yet playful landscape of words.

Em was shortlisted for the Penrose Literary Prize in 2023, and their work has been featured in Death Rattle Literary, The Canticle, pan pan press, Eleven & A Half, and Osseous Matter.
